Nurse/Health

We are concerned about the health and well-being of all our students. All buildings have a Nurse to help monitor the Health Suite. Please use the guidelines located to the right for your child’s school-related health concerns.

NOTE: Any serious illnesses or injuries should be diagnosed by a physician and the student should not be sent to school for evaluation.

Immunization Requirements

Yearly Screenings

Each year your child will receive the following screenings:

Height, Weight, & BMI - This is state mandated. Results are mailed to parents each school year.

Vision - All students have a vision screening each year.  All first grade students have their screening performed by the School Eye Doctor.  This is only a screening and does not take the place of a complete eye exam.

Hearing  -  Screenings are performed each year on students in Grades K-3 and again in grades 7 and 11.  This is only a screening and should not take the place of a complete hearing exam.

BMI Information

Pennsylvania requires schools to report Body Mass Index (BMI) for all children in the same way they report vision and hearing screenings.

BMI-for-age percentile shows how your child’s weight compares to that of other children of the same age and sex.

You can view your student's BMI in their Skyward Health Record.

If you do not have access to a computer, please contact your school nurse to receive this information.

Please call your school nurse or physician with any questions.
